Many of us will have an experience of depression or anxiety in our lifetime. Sometimes, with depression for instance, we can lose our direction and motivation to get on with life. Sharing this experience with someone who is trained to help can bring relief and understanding.
It may be that you are trying to manage confusing or painful feelings by putting them to one side or by losing yourself in non stop activity but you recognise that you would like to change something, to feel perhaps less overwhelmed, tired or empty. Not knowing where to begin to resolve the problem can seem daunting but exploring and putting your difficulties into words is a beginning.
I am an experienced and qualified counsellor working in Gloucestershire. I provide a professional and safe place in which you can speak openly and confidentially about whatever is on your mind. I am trained to listen to you in a way that can support you and help you recognise the source of your present difficulties, which may be rooted in the past. The psychodynamic approach I take in my practice can offer the possibility of lasting change.
When something is troubling you but you are unable to work it through on your own, a difficulty that is causing distress or anxiety, counselling can be a way forward helping you to find new perspectives and inner resources to cope with the feelings or situations you are tackling.
Asking for help is a strength not a weakness as it takes courage to ask for this kind of help particularly at a time when your confidence or self-esteem may be low . If something is troubling you and you would like some help working it through then I would be happy to hear from you.
