My core training as a psychodynamic counsellor was with GCS (Gloucestershire Counselling Service) an established counselling training provider and member of the Westminster Pastoral Foundation National Network of Counselling.
There are many schools of counselling and psychotherapy but as a psychodynamic counsellor my approach is based on the belief that we are shaped by our past experiences and that difficulties lie both within our conscious and unconscious mind.
From my experiences in counselling and as a Bachelor of Science I appreciate that the uniqueness of the individual lies between art and science and work with this in mind. My aim is to be alongside you on your therapeutic journey so that you grow in awareness and understanding of yourself.
As an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) my practice is guided by their code of ethics.
My commitment to CPD (continuing professional development) ensures I keep up to date and able to draw on other sources and schools of counselling and psychotherapy in order to meet individual needs. As a Lecturer in counselling I share my professional knowledge while In CPD and in teaching I am guided by BACP’s ethical framework for good practice.
In line with BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) code of ethics, I attend regular and full supervision with an accredited BACP supervisor. Supervision is a formal arrangement for therapists to discuss their work on a regular basis in order to maintain good standards of therapy.
